Rothera, Antarctica

Over the whole summer I only saw one penguin that wasn't an Adele. And this is him- a Chinstrap penguin.

The Gullet, Antarctica

Flying back to Rothera through the Gullet.

Cole Peninsula, Antarctica

Cole Peninsula, Antarctica

This was the last Twin Otter flight of the season, and Mark definitely did it justice. It was utterly incredible.

Cole Peninsula, Antarctica

With all the major projects completed there was just enough time left for Mark to fly me out to Cole Peninsula on the Larsen ice shelf, to collect a failed AWS.

Rothera, Antarctica

Not the best photo but I couldn't not post it. Can you spot him?

Fossil Bluff, Antarctica

By the first week in February all the field work for the summer season had been successfully completed. All that remained to do was to get everyone home and close up the depots. Ash (wintering marine biologist), Tim (wintering sparky), Phil (summer chippy) and I went down to Fossil Bluff one last time to close it up for the winter. We had four glorious dingle days and were able to get out walking in the evenings. This is me, Tim and Ash at the top of the Pyramid.
